Frequently Asked Questions
Please feel free to contact us if you still have a question we have not covered here
The vast majority of our courses are delivered face to face. However, depending on client need and geography, we can deliver shorter modules online.
The format and style of training will be discussed with our clients beforehand.
Due to the human behaviour elements of all our courses and the excellent facilitation style of our trainer, our preference will always be to deliver face to face to maximise the learning experience and upskilling of your staff.
Face-to-face training offers several advantages:
Personal Interaction: Direct engagement with trainers and peers encourages active participation and discussion.
Immediate Feedback: Trainers can provide instant clarification and support.
Networking: In-person sessions help build stronger relationships and professional connections.
Fewer Distractions: The classroom environment helps learners stay focused.
Nonverbal Communication: Body language and facial expressions enhance understanding.
Accountability: Physical presence increases motivation and participation.
Scenarios: We use lived experience scenarios to bring the training to life and help learners, remember, retain and recall the information, especially for use when back in the workplace and under pressure.
This is the single most praised part of our courses. People love the real life stories and scenarios used by us, and the chance to talk about their own real experiences in the workplace and have discussions about how others would or could have dealt with things differently.
Our founder has used his unique experiences from over 33 years working on the frontline, living in, operating in, and training conflict management, de-escalation techniques, situational awareness, and personal safety across a range of national and international arenas and brings this to the fore in the course content and delivery methodology.
His unique career profile not only means he has the knowledge and theory regarding human behaviours under pressure, but he has spent decades having to use this himself, in high-risk, high-threat environments, and knows what works and what doesn’t.
This is further enhanced by his ability to deliver the learning in an interactive and memorable way using his skills as the former UK head of Counter Terrorism Professional Development Unit and a Police Specialist Skills and Tactics Instructor.
Not only do we understand the theory around leadership and management; Our founder and all associate instructors are all highly successful and experienced leaders and managers, who have held senior ranks and UK lead roles within fast-paced, dynamic and ever changing environments and have the teaching abilities to draw out the best learning for all delegates. Knowing your stuff is one thing, knowing it and translating it in a tailored way for individuals, industries and groups each time is another…
We understand the critical importance of practicing under pressure as a means to prepare your staff for the real world challenges and rigours of leadership and management of people and teams.
We understand the importance of classroom discussion, self-reflection, exercise debriefing and tailored coaching of learners, to ensure they aren’t simply attending a course but that they have gained confidence, knowledge, understanding, skills, attitudes, and the correct management and leadership behaviours, to grow themselves and their teams, which will in turn grow your organisation, productivity, morale and staff retention well into the future.
The key difference is the way in which we deliver the training in a realistic, interactive and memorable way, backed by decades of unique experiences and supported by our training abilities.
The training can be delivered at your own premises or at one of our range of beautiful locations chosen by us to enhance the experience for the learners from the second they arrive.
This is to make sure they are relaxed, feel valued and remember the day, not just the content. When staff feel valued as part of a training event, they are much more likely to feel supported by their employer and develop the mindset of lifelong learning and personal development.
Not at all.
We hold courses that are available to individuals, so that small groups such as sports teams, ladies only groups, schools, colleges and Uni’s or small companies with only a few staff, or smaller budgets, can also access all our courses. Please contact us if you are interested in some of training for your group or even as an individual.
No.
Although originally designed to help counter the shocking prevalence of public sexual harassment of women and girls in the UK, and the unacceptable and continued rise of violence against women and girls, if a group of all male, or a mixed group would like us to put on a street safety course, we will happily do so. This is also available to private groups. We can also deliver this training to schools and colleges and adapt the content for different age groups. If you are an educational establishment, then please contact us to discuss.
There may be.
The first 50 miles from our business premises is always free to our clients and the remaining mileage is charged at £0.45 pence per mile (in line with HMRC rates).
There may be a charge for accommodation for our trainers but only if they need to stay over due to the distance to travel to the venue, and/or client scheduling requirements for course start times. This will be capped at a maximum of £150 per night.
All costs will be fully discussed with the client and agreed in writing beforehand, so the client has no hidden surprises.
If our courses or specialist services are marked as POA, this signifies that the final quote will be ‘priced on application’ once we have had the chance to discuss the details of exactly what duration, level of testing and exercising you require, or for any other additional resourcing or course design and preparation that is required.
