An Overview
Training for Reality delivers specialist behavioural conflict and leadership training for individuals, teams, and organisations who want to perform with clarity under pressure.
Our approach blends conflict competence, situational awareness, emotional intelligence, persuasion and influence, and structured decision‑making into a single, cohesive framework.
We teach people how to read human behaviour, anticipate risk, manage difficult interactions, and lead with confidence, whether they’re navigating workplace conflict, making high‑stakes decisions, or guiding others through uncertainty.
Every session is practical, scenario‑driven, and grounded in the realities of human behaviour. No theory for theory’s sake – just skills that work when it counts!
Courses are tailored to your industry and working environment, they are interactive and adaptable, ensuring that both employers and employees not only enjoy their learning experience and get excellent value for money, but employers will also meet regulatory requirements (e.g. HASAWA 1974 (General duty of care to protect and train staff), Worker Protection Act 2023.
Our use of scenarios, lived experiences and conversational delivery style, is key to ensuring participants enjoy, retain and can recall the information, even when under pressure.
Our training equips people with the knowledge, understanding, skills, attitudes, and behaviours needed to:
Build trust, loyalty, and cohesion within teams and organisations, navigate interpersonal dynamics with clarity and compassion, and safely and professionally respond to conflict triggers, stress, and uncertainty, with emotional intelligence and professionalism.
Delegates are taught how to manage their own emotions, structure their decision-making, and chose their behavioural responses. They’ll learn how to understand and manage themselves and others in times of calm, as well as crisis and challenge.
They will leave our training better equipped to ensure consistent, authentic and genuine relationships and leadership, which in turn engenders trust, loyalty and a team-bond, like no other.
Training for Reality’s sweet spot is organisations with frontline or people-facing staff, who are legally obligated to provide safety and conflict training, alongside corporates and public sector teams, who want to upskill leaders in resilience, decision-making, and conflict management.
Those include but are not limited to:
Public sector – e.g. Councils and Local authorities, Emergency services and Government departments
Housing Providers – e.g. Local Authority and Charitable Housing associations, Arm’s Length Management Organisations (ALMOs), Private Registered Providers, etc
Healthcare sector – e.g. Doctors, Nurses, Mental health, Care workers and Outreach workers, Charity workers and Counsellors.
Education sector – e.g. Schools, Colleges and universities for both staff and students
Hospitality sector – e.g. Hotels, Pubs, Clubs, Cafes, and Entertainment venues
The Travel and Tourism sector – e.g. Theme parks, Public Parks and other Leisure facilities
Transport sector – e.g. Haulage firms, Bus companies, Taxi-firms, and other transport operators
THE PROBLEMS WE SOLVE
Keeping your people safe – too many staff face aggressive or unpredictable situations at work, from lone working to customer disputes. We equip your teams with the confidence and skills to recognise potential escalation before it occurs, manage it if it does, de-escalate it safely and professionally, stay safe, and make better decisions under pressure.
Building resilient leaders – managers are often promoted without the tools to manage people or team dynamics, handle conflict, have tough conversations, or make structured, justifiable decisions that carry real consequences. We prepare leaders to communicate with clarity, manage pressure, and lead teams with confidence and fairness.
Fixing team dysfunction – poor communication, clashing personalities, and lack of trust holds teams back. Our training helps people understand themselves and each other better, building collaboration, accountability, and stronger team performance and to respond calmly and effectively when it matters most.
Preparing for the unexpected – crises don’t come with a manual. Whether it’s a reputational issue, a high-risk incident, or organisational change, many teams only
discover their gaps when it’s too late. We stress-test your organisation through realistic scenarios, so you can respond calmly and effectively when it matters most.
Trust is rarely built during a crisis but it will always be tested!
Retaining and valuing staff – employees who feel unsupported in difficult or dangerous situations are more likely to leave. You can show your staff they’re valued by giving them meaningful, practical training that protects their wellbeing, boosts morale, and strengthens trust in you, their employer.
OUR BELIEF
We firmly believe that you can teach someone ‘what’ to do, but when you train people ‘how’ to be their best self, you unleash authenticity, which in turn engenders trust and loyalty.
The greatest untapped resource in any team or organisation, is not technology, it’s the power of its people to understand, adapt and respond to one another with respect, authenticity and a willingness to work together for the benefit of all.
Training for Reality courses aren’t just skill-building exercises; they are a catalyst for cultural change in your organisation.
With more confident, competent, skilled, and emotionally intelligent managers and leaders, your get happier more committed staff. That in turn translates to higher performance and productivity, better morale and staff retention, and more cohesive and resilient teams.
When people truly understand themselves, their impact on others, and the reasons for each other’s behaviours; everything shifts from conflict to collaboration, silence to connection, and individuals who work in a team, become individuals who work, AS a team.
Every penny invested in our style of human behaviour training, is also an investment in future-proofing your business, your workplace culture, developing yourself, and developing your team.

What our clients say!
What truly distinguishes Garth is his rare ability to make every individual in the room feel acknowledged, understood, and empowered. He creates an inclusive, respectful environment where people are encouraged to contribute and grow. His commitment to the development and success of others is evident in everything he does.
In addition to his professional excellence, Garth is one of the most genuine, intelligent, and emotionally attuned individuals I’ve encountered. His integrity, empathy, and relatability make him an outstanding trainer and a truly inspiring person to work with. I recommend him without hesitation.
Garth builds trust that allows people to open up about their challanges & fears. This translates into personal growth and confidence and self belief on the delegates part.
He inspires, empowers and is always to helpfull…
Best trainer I have ever met.
He cares about the people he surrounds himself with and you can see this as he a keen ability to read people and understand them on a personal level. Garth doesn’t assume that all people are the same and this is so important when working with all kinds of people from different walks of life but so many in his position wouldn’t see the importance of this and this is why he stands out amongst the rest.
Following my period working with him Garth has maintained his advocacy of me and I’m sure this is the case with so many he has worked with. This is because he cares about the people that he connects with and wants to see them succeed. He builds a bond with everyone and understands what makes people different and see’s the importance in them.
Finally he is an advocate for change and I think this is so important. He is always developing and educating himself and everyone around him. He is not fearful of the unknown but instead runs towards it. This is a level of open mindedness that most people rarely get to. But he himself has discussed how this has helped so many who perhaps didn’t have voices or were too scared to speak up.
To some up I think Garth is amazing at what he does as he will always go above and beyond. He cares about people and knows the importance of being kind. His interpersonal skills speak for themselves he has empathy, understanding, listening, positive attitude the list goes on. I know he will succeed and will be an asset to anyone he has the pleasure of coming in contact with.
He has seen the worst of the world but chooses to teach women how to stay safe, how to trust their instincts, and how to protect each other.
Being a woman should not feel frightening. Conversations like this matter.
We are so thankful to have hosted such an inspiring evening.
Bring on the next one.
